Global Warming
Call me skeptical regarding all the disaster scenarios regarding a warmer Earth.
I do not discount the fact that temperatures are rising. I find it hard to believe that the warming can only lead to disaster.
In the past the Earth has been both much warmer and much cooler.
Overall I think the science is still not strong...and predictions of what might occur even weaker.

Many of the assertions Gore makes in his movie, ''An Inconvenient Truth,'' have been refuted by science, both before and after he made them. Gore can show sincerity in his plea for scientific honesty by publicly acknowledging where science has rebutted his claims.For example, Gore claims that Himalayan glaciers are shrinking and global warming is to blame. Yet the September 2006 issue of the American Meteorological Society's Journal of Climate reported, "Glaciers are growing in the Himalayan Mountains, confounding global warming alarmists who recently claimed the glaciers were shrinking and that global warming was to blame."

Unfortunately the one source you included is based on a significant overstatement of Conflicting Signals of Climatic Change in the Upper Indus Basin, H. J. Fowler and D. R. Archer, J. of Climate, v. 19, pp. 4276–4293 (Sept 2006). Indeed there were glacial surges, but these were limited to the Karakoram region alone. This should not have missed the attention of a lawyer like Mr. Taylor. Since their study was largely confined to temperature and runoff data for Karakoram mountains, they make do not make any extrapolation to any other climate data, pointedly state that the glaciers are retreating in the Greater Himalayas.
It's interesting to note that the Himalayan glaciers are positioned over an inactive volcano. As the volcano's below surface activity waxes and waynes over the years the glaciers melt and freeze respectively. The glaciers melting have nothing to do with global warming. Global warming is nothing more than a scam, a scare tactic with a political agenda.
